NEW CHARGERS DOCUMENTARY...BACKSTAGE: CHARGERS

In one of my last articles, I reviewed how the digital media team is trying to reach out to the fans of the Chargers with new and creative ideas. https://tpchargers.blogspot.com/2018/07/how-chargers-are-using-digital-media-to.html.

Well they stayed true to their word as Nicoletta Ruhl was discussing taking the Chargers to the big screen. A new documentary on the Chargers will debut on Thursday September 6. The Chargers have partnered with Spectrum SportsNet to produce this bi-weekly show that takes fans inside the lives and the locker room that we don't usually see. A Hard Knocks knock off kinda show which the Chargers missed out on being showcased by the Cleveland Browns.

The show will be broadcast by Spectrum SportsNet. On Direct TV it will be channel 691 in San Diego, LA, Bakersfield and parts of Fresno. On Time Warner in LA it will be on channel 319. Remember the date now Thursday September 6 at 9pm. That will be right after the team wraps up the Preseason in Carson against the 49ERS and 3 days before the opener vs the Chiefs.

Normally, I would rip on the Chargers for being cheesy but this works and they deserve the positive press for doing it. In the teams advertising for the show they say, "We were able to take the helmets off of the players, so to speak, and allow our fans to be right there with us as the story unfolds". The show is called BACKSTAGE: CHARGERS.

Here is a link to the announcement of the show from the Chargers team website Chargers.com https://www.chargers.com/news/chargers-offering-unparalleled-access-with-backstage-chargers.

The team will also be giving away free tattoos for the 2nd year in a row on a first come, first served basis by Shamrock Tattoo in LA. It will be held Wednesday August 8th from 1pm to 1 am. No word if Scott Kaplan and Derek Togerson will be among those getting tatted that day.
