HARD KNOCKS ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON

HBO is returning for the 10th year the NFL behind the scenes show " Hard Knocks". A show focusing on one team every year during their training camp and preseason games. So far the show has included the Cowboys, Jets, Texans, Bucs, Falcons, Ravens, Rams, Dolphins and the Bengals twice since it began back in 2001. Out of the 10 teams featured on the show 4 have made the playoffs the year of the filming.

Having Colin Cowherd, a sports reporter in your draft war room is a big change of course for the Chargers. It showed a wiliness to do what makes you uncomfortable when weighing the advantages to the disadvantages.gaining a much wider selection of fans.

Filming is an all access pass into the daily operations of running a football team. They take you from the 1st day of Training camp, to film room sessions, practices, coaches meetings, personal stories, preseason games until the final cuts are completed to end the preseason.

The Chargers were never really an exciting option until this year. AJ Smith once called the show Fake and a joke. Their are 6 teams being considered as the team in 2018. The Chargers, 49ERS, Broncos, Redskins, Browns and the Ravens. The Ravens and have been on before and the Redskins don't offer to many story lines to see the watcher. The Browns have voiced displeasure with the show from the GM John Dorsey to the Head Coach Hue Jackson. John Lynch the current GM of the 49ers isn't offering much support either. Although, Jimmy Garoppolo and the young 49ers have some good story lines to follow if they were the team chosen.

The odds I would say are as follows.

FAVORITE BY FAR: Chargers 80%, 49ERS 15, Redskins 3%, Broncos, Browns with Mayfield and Ravens near no chance. Why would someone in the Midwest care about the Chargers? The endless story lines that would be available.

In January, Telesco said in a press conference "We have a really good relationship with NFL Films and Ross Ketover and his staff, they do really excellent work," Telesco said. "And that show is really good because they give great access.

"Am I comfortable asking our players and coaches to work every day with microphones and cameras on them? Not entirely; I just think that people work differently when you're under the microscope like that being filmed. But that all being said, there's some benefits beyond football to being on that show, and we're pretty adaptable people here. If it so happens that we do it, then we'll make it work and we'll adapt to it. We shall see."
HBO usually announces between March and June who the featured team will be that year. Last year, the announcement came in April so I would expect an announcement in the next few days. I would almost guarantee the Chargers and the story lines that come with them will make them the featured team this fall.
The team would gladly invite the opportunity to increase their fan base as they await the Inglewood stadium and the 72,000 seat stadium they will be looking to fill. The Chargers are a young team and the nation questioned if they did the right thing by going from San Diego to Carson, Ca. The perception of the games in Carson being virtually road games will be a focus on the show plus the many exciting players the Chargers are developing.
The show is not fake but at times it does a certain amount of show off behavior from the players. The coaches meetings are extremely intriguing especially when it is your favorite team being featured. Filming of the coaches informing players that their dream is over and they are being released is intense.
The teams can not turn down if they are the ones chosen. I believe strongly the Chargers will not only be the team but one of the most popular teams ever featured on the show. A lot of customers may being ordering HBO in Southern California in the next few days.
