ALEX SPANOS HAS PASSED AWAY

   Alex Spanos passed away this morning at 95 years of age the team announced in a statement. Alex was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing. Alex lived the American dream being born to Greek immigrants and coming to america to start his billionaire business in construction. He bought the Chargers in 1984. His wife Faye just passed in August.

   While Alex was involved iin many bad deals for the city of San Diego among them the ticket guarantee and inserting the exit clause in the lease with the city he had little to do with the relocation. Alex was the owner during the 1994 Chargers Super Bowl season. He is survived by four children, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
