San Diegans woke up early Saturday morning to participate in the "The Edco SD Legends 5K". A former Charger Hall of Fame running back use to have his name involved with the event but apparently as the saying goes "money really is all that matters" to some people.
Just as the city as a whole is doing post Chargers relocation The charity events goes on and moves on. Former San Diego sports legends of the Chargers, Sockers and a member of the U.S. National Soccer Team came out to support the marathon runners. The Adults ran a 5K and the kids ran a 1K fun run. The venue was at the beautiful park at the Naval Training Center in Point Loma NTC Park with proceeds going to help San Diego local youth and sports teams. President of Integrated Sports Marketing Dave Miller put the event together.
Legends such as Bret Boone, Cha Cha Namdar, Julie Veee, Shannon MacMillan, Charlie Joiner, John Carney, Darren Bennett, Billy Ray Smith, David Binn, Brian Quinn and SDSU Lynell Hamilton to sign autographs and posed for pictures with waiting fans. Hank Bauer was a wonderful emcee for the event. Scott Kaplan of sports radio1090am was a runner with his daughter and her friends. (Making participating in a charity event a family tradition, not bad)
Burt Grossman sexy legs were not spotted at the event nor was BoltBlitzLive co-host Greg Williams. Greg might have been at one of the many Gay Pride Celebrations throughout the country. We support you Greg!

BoltBlitz was proud to take part as a VIP guest as well as the SD Sharks, Computers 2 Kids San Diego, Eduragive and so many others. We handed out Charger wristbands and pencils to those who choose to come to the booth and get one. The attendance wasn't as high as previous years. But the event much like the city is still in the process of moving on.
