Standing at 6-foot 5-inches, weighing in at 249 pounds is...the Chargers future successor? Yes, I am talking about Cardale Jones. The former Ohio State quarterback started a total of three games and won the National Championship in a blowout 42-20 win against the Oregon Ducks in his 2014 campaign. In those three monstrous performances he put together some phenomenal statistics. Including 46 completions in 75 attempts, 742 yards, 5 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, 90 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/cardale-jones-1.html.
The numbers do not lie. Although it was just 3 games, it was just a glimpse of what he could do in a 16 game season. Cardale also has similar characteristics if not better than the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft. Jones bursted for a 4.81 second 40 yard dash time which happens to be quicker than Baker Mayfield’s 4.84. In 2015, Cardale Jones made a 74 yard pass that some did not even notice. He just makes it look that easy.

Meanwhile, NFL fans are in shock from Josh Allen throwing nearly 70 yards. Once again, the numbers do not lie.
Football fans have already witnessed how well he learns behind the quarterbacks in front of him. Once again, looking back at his 2014 campaign. Cardale Jones started off the third string in the beginning of the 2014-15 season. This is his time to learn, develop his craft, and wait for the opportunity to come. Once he gets the call, everything he has been taught will show on the field.
So what does this all mean? It means he would have sat behind one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time for an entire season. Learning behind Philip Rivers and in the films rooms with Rivers helping him to develop his craft. Cardale is waiting for that moment he is called upon to rise up. Hopefully, Cardale will be here for many years to come. When he is finally called upon that to perform that will be his moment. It will be his time to shine. It will be time to show that there is a new sheriff in town!
Cardale doesn’t back away from challenges and he sure doesn’t back away from defenders. Cardale Jones is built to Head Coach Lynn’s schemes to perfection. He is big and he is fast. Defenders will either have to get out of his way or he will run through them. Jones will demolish defenses with his strong arm and intelligence. If the time comes that the Chargers decide that Cardale is their man. Well, then there is only one thing to say. Beware!!
