A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE CHARGERS TODAY 4-5-2018

A few things of note regarding the Chargers today.

Geno Smith deal is 1 year for $1 million dollars and $200,000 guaranteed plus a signing bonus. That is the exact amount that they were paying Kellen Clemens. Fantastic trade off done by Tom Telesco as he can create competition with Cardale Jones as the Chargers #2 backup. Even if the team was to draft Lamar Jackson in the draft it would most likely still be those two battling it out at QB2.

The 2018 NFL schedule will be released soon. It typically is released right around April 20th which is 15 days away. You should get 24 hours notice that they are announcing.

 In May, a announcement of what team will be featured in Hard Knocks will be announced. The teams being considered is the Browns, 49ers, Redskins, Ravens, Broncos and the Chargers.

The Chargers will begin voluntary off season workouts on April 16th. OTA will be from May 22-24 and 29-31st. They will resume June 5-8th. Mandatory mini camp will happen from June 12th to the 14th.

• Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only. 

• Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program. On-field workouts may include individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a "separates" basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted. 

• Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program. Teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or "OTAs." No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

 However, if you are a season ticket holder then the 2018 Chargers Draft Party is confirmed. It will be at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. A email with information was sent out to selective fans yesterday.
